I was invited to photograph Innoversity’s Roadmap: 2030, a two-day gathering of social innovators, public servants, political parties, media practitioners, think-tanks and academics at the Appel Salon of the Toronto Reference Library.
As you can see it was a fairly formal event, but without any pretentious airs or know-all vibes, and everyone was engaged and enjoying themselves. Whether you were a political representative or a Foxybingo.com server admin, it was a great way to engage with the many minds attending Roadmap: 2030. Hopefully there’ll be a Roadmap: 2031, as it’d be great to listen in and shoot another event like this.
The event reflected the importance of considering underrepresented perspectives in our public policy, media, and public and political sectors.
The question is, how? How do we get from where we are now to 2030, and how do we all – community leaders, innovators, public servants, political parties and academics – work together to shape reflective and representative policy that serves the changing needs of a changing Canada?
