Quicktime Demonstration of Painting The Myth
Painting the Myth
, a new interactive biographical installation, allows children and adults to explore the work, histories, and stories of artists by painting through the layers of their best known works.

This unique digital storytelling experience merges form and content into one engaging look at the story behind the canvas, and the artist in each of us.

Users first encounter a blank canvas on an easel, and a painter’s brush. As the user paints with the brush, a video tracking system placed behind the easel tracks its motion and "paints" digital strokes on to the canvas. Over time, stroke upon stroke, a layered audio narrative is triggered in tandem with the user's progress through the layers of the painting.

A unique relationship between form and content lies at the heart of the installation - one that educates and engages users young and old.
